NIFES

We are happy to renew our acquaintence with NIFES’ Glasgow design office; the November we have been invited by Ian Sharpe to set up a company-wide CAD set up, and provide electrical design drawings for a number of projects (mainly H.M.N.B. Clyde at Faslane, and Elgin Sheriff Court).

The last time we worked with NIFES was back in 1993 — see contract ref #17 — when we assisted with some difficult offshore draughting work.

1997-01 Edit: We took a couple of months to successfully set plotting configurations, acad.pgp entries (aliases), defaults settings, attribute defined company drawing frames to ISO and British Standards, a symbols and blocks library, provided ‘*.lsp’ files, and compile a draughting guide for all branches.

The company uses using AutoCAD releases 12 and 13 for Windows and AutoCAD L.T. for Windows, the A.E.C. system, Drag’N’Zip, PKWare, and Xtree Gold as well as ‘*.plt’ files (using split-it.exe), pen plotting, and LaserJet printing.
