ScottishPower – Freeman Hospital

We are delighted to announce that we have been invited by Dr Alan Shuttleworth to prepare all pretender and tender specifications for the Contract Energy Management (C.E.M.) proposals for Freeman N.H.S. Hospital Trust in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on behalf of ScottishPower Technology Division, ScottishPower plc, (Technical engineering services), East Kilbride, Scotland, under our contract ref. 27.

In our role as Senior Design Consultant for this prestigious and extremely complicated project, we shall be given full support from the Mechanical Section’s HVAC Group.

1996-05 Edit: The task was complicated as the hospital had to be kept running throughout the project, so our main problems were to ensure a continued power supply, uninterrupted heating and procedures to minimise disruption and inconvenience to the hospital staff, visitors, and patients — provision for isolating portions of the building, providing parking areas, worker’s toilets, and so forth.

We successfully completed our brief to provide all contract documentation and design calculations on time.
