Balmoral
We have been invited by Balmoral Glassfibre Limited (Balmoral Group) — a company of Plastics manufacturers based in Aberdeen — to develop all the glass fibre re-inforced plastic (GRP) ductwork for acid and alkali fume exhaust systems and scrubbers serving the clean room subfab of the diffusion building at the N.E.C. Expansion Phase III site in West Lothian.
This is an exciting challenge, and has the potential to run for several months, possibly to the end of the year, making 1996 another good year.
1996-02 Edit: We set up the site, and produced all required A1 size 2.D. detailed scale drawings ‘fast track’ style for co-ordination, approval, manufacture and construction using AutoCAD release 12 for DOS computerised drawing system, Xtree Gold, PKWare, a pen-plotter and D.A.T. tape streamer. Health & Safety at Work induction and clean protocol inductions attended, security clearances obtained. Our contract ref 26 ran 5 months from August to Christmas 1995.
2006-09 Edit: The NEC plant expanded, and then later reduced its workforce. Finally it announced its closure.
