United Distillers

After our previous successful project at the port Dundas Distillery, we were again approached by Osprey Engineering on behalf of United Malt & Grain Distillers for the production of process flow diagrams and detailed drawings of falling film evaporators for their Dark Grains Plant.

This project will involve modifications and detailed drawing work for the Caustic pipework system. It is a short contract, but a nice way to wind up yet another very successful second quarter (and half-year).

2003-03 Edit: We began work on contract #14 as the client company was taken over by the Guiness Group and the company name changed to United Distillers.

Once again, we were commended upon a successful contract and this ensured future work — later contracts included: drawings and modifications to copper reactor column in the Stills House; Dark Grains’ scrubbers and heat exchangers details and alterations; and Cooperage sprinkler fire protection system drawings.

These contracts ran from June 1992 to February 1993, and were to the highest and most stringent standards, much of the work involved difficult external surveying and measurement and high levels of hazard.

2006-09 Edit: The Guinness Group was in turn bought out by Diageo, and many well-known distillery buildings around Glasgow have been rebranded as Diageo
