We are delighted to announce that we have won a major interior design contract commencing at the beginning of the year.

We were approached by Osprey Engineering on behalf of their client, United Malt & Grain Distillers to conceive, design, and realise a Boardroom, Reception Area, and Visitors’ Centre in an existing building shell at the distillery in Port Dundas, Glasgow.

This will involve producing a full architectural/ interior design package with coloured renderings, sketches, layouts, costing, and a presentation to the distillery management. Site surveys are included, along with the production of a full set of detailed drawings (structural, mechanical, electrical and multi-discipline) sufficient for costing, construction, building warrants and planning permits.

The entire distillery is listed for preservation, and its chimney is one of the most prominent features of the Glasgow City Skyline; it is highly visible, being at the top of a hill to the North of the City Centre. It can be seen looking North up Hope Street (and other streets in the grid), as well as being visible for 15 miles on the M8 Motorway ringroad.

1992-05 Edit: Complete byApril 1992, contract ref #9, was successfully realised; our design got a building warrant and received planning consent.

We co-managed the projects with Jim Anderson, and manged to keep within the budget as well as deliver almost two weeks ahead of programme. The dcdevine consultancy received a commendation from the distillery board.

2006-09 Edit: The Guinness Group was in turn bought out by Diageo, and many well-known distillery buildings around Glasgow have been rebranded as Diageo
